This is how the Scout reads Asterix. He points to Asterix and says "thiss Attix" and then he points to an unfortunate Roman legionary, that can be found in almost any page fallen down with a bump on his head, and says "uncle fall down", opens the next page and the same thing repeats "Attix".. "uncle fall down".. "Attix".. "uncle fall down" till he flips through the pages and closes the book.
Is there hope for this kid?!

Wow - you have introduced the Scout to Asterix ? Talk about early immersion in essential education ! Am very impressed !
ReplyDeleteHis interpretation is perfect :-)
PV: Our book-shelf is not baby-proofed is all. What would you say if I told you he is known to pick up the Linux BSD kernel book also? He is as random as that. :)
ReplyDeleteKernel Programming would be a bit much ! He must be really well-behaved for you to leave your bookshelf as-is
ReplyDeleteCho cute! Post more Scout-bytes...he's a precious one!
ReplyDeleteWhat does he call Obelix?
Wow he know his Asterix and Obelix already? Which is the first book he read? :)
ReplyDeleteIs he a punter in Linux Kernel progamming or is he still working on that one? :)
LOL!
ReplyDeleteI am trying to guess if we would have decoded Asterix if you'd just mentioned Attix.
Asterix already...this boy is going far for sure :)
ReplyDeleteLOL! Perfect at precise-writing already!
ReplyDeleteHow cute. Nothing like getting them started early on accelerated reading ;)
ReplyDeleteStarry / Shankari / R's mom: He thinks Obelix is a cow and goes 'moo'. :( That's as much as his comprehension goes..
ReplyDeleteTPL: What if folks thought it was Atticus (of Finch fame).. what a folly that would have been on the Scout's part for we never want anyone related to that Atticus to fall down. :)
Chox: Precise writing? Who? Where?
Sands: No real plan for accelerated reading or anything. We just go with the flow. :)
Uncle fall down .... has that got to do with Humpty Dumpty rhyme ?? Or he says that in Kannada ??
ReplyDeleteThe reason I ask, my kid is speaking in English much our amazement, when we all speak in Kannada most of the time ... apparently siblings have greater influence
CA: I think it is from humpty-dumpty and daycare. The daycare is a huge influence. He speaks some Kannada and some English but I think he has no concept in his mind that there are different languages. :) I have seen what you are saying in cousins homes. The second one speaks in English (only) with the first one and with others although the first one speaks in Kannada as well.
ReplyDeleteclueless: What updates from Risha?
so cute! i think for his age he know his Asterix perfectly! :)
ReplyDeleteand yayy for not baby proofing the book shelf! ofcos with our second one coming i have a feeling a lot of things will change and Cub will seem like an angel! gah!
